Growing up in a Catholic/United Methodist/Mennonite family, religion was more of a spirituality soup. Depending on where we were and when, the soup might be more of one than the others. Without a central religion, we were exposed to all sorts of Christians and different levels of commitment. One thing that always stood out abundantly clear is that love was not always love, but hate was always hate. Much like, Militant Islamists hate non-islamics (that’s putting mildly). Christians hate non-christians.

I am compelled to ask the question. Do you see a difference?

Militant Islamists have had their hate on since the 11th century. Somewhere in history, islamics felt victimized and they have terrorized non-islamic entities (rationally or not) since that time. If this seems incomprehensible how a religion keeps the whole world as its hostage by instilling terror, you win 25 points. If you heard Osama bin Laden’s letter to America where he calls people to stop separating church and state, you win 25 points.
